Once upon a time there was a website called Myspace. Teenagers, parents and creepers alike all flocked to this wondrous space of My. Then when the people were unaware it started to devour their souls.
Along came a young chap who had resisted it's temptation of friends, and contact. Soon it had infected his friends, and eventually him too.
For a whole year, piece by piece, it chewed on his spirit. Engulfing him in complete idiocy. Until Finally one day, he broke free, and erased his account.
A brief period passed when he was free, and his soul frolicked through the REAL world. Where he actually, verbally, communicated with his fellow humans. When suddenly a more vile creature slithered forth from the shadow. FACEBOOK!
This time the young lad was poisoned not by the entranced friends, and fellow students, but this time by his own blood...his FAMILY!!! Once again his soul was tethered to an imaginary space that boasted interaction, and promised useful applications. Month after month his was showered by messages, comments, and the occasional invite, but for every one message he received he lost ten minutes of his life. Soon minutes turned to hours, hours to days, and days to months. All that was left was a shell of a young intelligent being.
One day upon talking to a fellow that he thought he was friends with, he realized he didn't like this fellow at all. This conversation was hollow. This exchange of words too in it's own way was plastic, and shallow.
soon the young brain began to wonder, how much of these "friends" were actually friends!?!
With a few clicks he removed the the faux companions. But like a Hydra each head he severed three more friend requests appeared!
He had to end it all. He had to conquer this sick obsession, he had to slay the beast which had been devouring his soul for years. This beast with a new face. This beast that invited people to interact, but in all actually destroyed any and all "face-time" between companions!
With quick survey of the applications, buttons, and pages he clicked his final click on the massive beast, and deactivated it once and for all. His spirt rejuvenated he was free to move on to more important things, and actually call someone!
The young hero continued to actually talk to someone face to face, and in doing so had destroyed the demon that had his heart in a head-lock! Frm there on he was free, and lived happily ever after.
...and then got addicted to Deviantart...
THE END.
It's good to be back.
